In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting Athens Warriors volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Riverton Hawks.

The Warriors (22-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Olympia (Stanford, IL). The Spartans come into the Sangamo challenge with a 15-15 record. In their last challenge, Olympia edged PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL), 2-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Hawks meet the Rushville-Industry Rockets (Rushville, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 11. Riverton will attempt to upgrade on its 16-11 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 9-12 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Brown County (Mt. Sterling, IL).
