In Friday's non-league game, the Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV) football team smashed the host Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV), by a score of 55-12.

The Spartans (4-1) will now prepare for their game against Oak Hill (Oak Hill, WV). The Red Devils come into the Coalfield AA game with a 2-4 record. In their last game, Oak Hill was ripped by Cabell Midland (Ona, WV), 56-16, in a non-league game.
