The Ruston Bearcats football squad scored 51 points and limited the host St. Thomas More Cougars to 27 in the Bearcats non-league win on Friday.

The Bearcats now possess a 4-1 record. They play next when they travel to Pineville for a 5A District 2 battle on Friday, October 8. Ruston will play a Rebels squad coming off a 42-0 non-league loss to Iowa (Iowa, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 3-3.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) in a 4A District 5 battle, on Friday, October 8. St. Thomas More will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Tigers go into the battle with a 4-1 record after their 28-12 non-league win over Lake Charles College Prep (Lake Charles, LA).
