October 10, 2024: Pelahatchie, MS 39145 The Leake County Gators felled the host Pelahatchie Chiefs football team by a score of 44-30 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Gators play the Mount Olive Pirates (Mount Olive, MS) in a 1A Region 7 challenge, on Friday, October 18. Leake County will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Pirates go into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 55-20 non-league loss to Sebastopol (Sebastopol, MS).
The Chiefs (2-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Pisgah (Sandhill, MS). The Dragons go into the 2A Region 6 challenge with a 6-1 record. In their last challenge, Pisgah toppled St. Andrew's Episcopal (Ridgeland, MS), 34-6, in a league challenge.
