October 10, 2024: Waterloo, IA 50702 Columbus Sailors (Waterloo, IA) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the visiting Oelwein Huskies (Oelwein, IA), 2-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, Columbus improves its record to 10-20 on the season. The Sailors host East Marshall (Le Grand, IA) to face the Mustangs in a test on Thursday, October 10. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 7-20. East Marshall lost 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Union (La Porte City, IA)
The Huskies now own a 13-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monticello for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 22. Oelwein will face a Panthers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Northeast (Goose Lake, IA). The Panthers record now stands at 23-7.
