In Friday's league battle, the visiting Appalachian Eagles football team scored a nice 34-19 win over the Ragland Purple Devils.

With the win, Appalachian advances its record to 8-0 on the season. The Eagles host Woodville (Woodville, AL) to play the Panthers in a 1A Region 8 battle on Friday, October 17. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 6-1. Woodville won 27-21 in their recent league battle against Valley Head (Valley Head, AL)

The Purple Devils now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Gaylesville for a 1A Region 8 battle on Friday, October 17. Ragland will play a Trojans team coming off a 34-8 league loss to Spring Garden (Spring Garden, AL). The Trojans record now stands at 3-4.
