The Peoria Lions walloped the visiting Champaign Central Maroons football team by a score of 64-27 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions face the Bloomington Purple Raiders (Bloomington, IL) in a Big Twelve challenge, on Friday, October 17. Peoria will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Purple Raiders come into the test with a 5-2 record after their 53-19 league loss to Peoria Notre Dame (Peoria, IL).

With the defeat, Champaign Central drops to 3-4 on the campaign. The Maroons host Normal West (Normal, IL) to meet the Wildcats in a Big Twelve test on Friday, October 17. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 5-2. Normal West won 48-0 in their recent league test against Manual (Peoria, IL)
