In Friday's league game, the Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX) football team were victorious over the visiting Groesbeck Goats (Groesbeck, TX), by a margin of 32-14.

The Black Cats now sport a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to West for a 3A-1 Region II District 5 outing on Friday, October 17. Mexia will clash with a Trojans squad coming off a 58-7 league win over Maypearl (Maypearl, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 5-1.

With the defeat, Groesbeck drops to 2-4 on the year. The Goats travel to Grandview (Grandview, TX) to battle the Zebras in a 3A-1 Region II District 5 game on Friday, October 17.
