In Friday's league game, the Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) football squad trounced the visiting Iroquois West Raiders (Gilman, IL), by a margin of 48-0.

The Comets now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Salt Fork for a Vermilion Valley outing on Friday, October 17. Oakwood will clash with a Storm squad coming off a 48-20 league win over Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman (Georgetown, IL). The Storm record now stands at 5-2.

With the defeat, Iroquois West drops to 1-6 on the campaign. The Raiders host Clifton Central (Clifton, IL) to clash with the Comets in a Vermilion Valley outing on Friday, October 17. The Comets come into the outing with a record of 6-1. Clifton Central won 54-0 in their recent league outing against Hoopeston/Armstrong (Hoopeston, IL)
