Kemper County Wildcats (DeKalb, MS) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting Velma Jackson Falcons (Camden, MS), 34-16 in a league match.

The Wildcats (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Eupora (Eupora, MS). The Eagles come into the 2A Region 4 match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Eupora defeated J.Z. George (North Carrollton, MS), 38-6, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Falcons play the Philadelphia Tornadoes (Philadelphia, MS) in a 2A Region 4 battle, on Friday, October 17. Velma Jackson will attempt to improve on its 3-4 season record. The Tornadoes go into the battle with a 0-6 record after their 29-6 league loss to East Webster (Maben, MS).
