In Friday's league game, the Lincolnton Wolves (Lincolnton, NC) football team edged the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), by a score of 35-34.

In their next game, the Wolves face the Stuart W. Cramer Storm (Belmont, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A game, on Friday, October 17. Lincolnton will attempt to improve on its 7-1 season record. The Storm enter the game with a 5-2 record after their 21-0 league win over West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC).

With the defeat, Shelby drops to 4-3 on the campaign. The Golden lions travel to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) to clash with the Warriors in a Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A outing on Friday, October 17. The Warriors come into the outing with a record of 2-5. East Gaston lost 21-14 in their recent league game against Cherryville (Cherryville, NC)
