In Friday's league game, the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) football team edged the visiting Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), by a tally of 27-22.

In their next game, the Patriots face the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a Western Highlands 2A/3A game, on Friday, October 17. Madison will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Warhorses enter the game with a 4-4 record after their 40-0 league loss to Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC).

The Wolverines (2-6) will now prepare for their game against Avery County (Newland, NC). The Vikings enter the Western Highlands 2A/3A game with a 1-6 record.
