The Newport Greyhounds felled the visiting Osceola Seminoles football team by a score of 34-10 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Greyhounds face the Manila Lions (Manila, AR) in a 3A Region 3 challenge, on Friday, October 17. Newport will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Lions go into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 34-8 league loss to Harrisburg (Harrisburg, AR).

With the defeat, Osceola drops to 1-5 on the campaign. The Seminoles host Harrisburg (Harrisburg, AR) to meet the Hornets in a 3A Region 3 test on Friday, October 17. The Hornets come into the test with a record of 2-4. Harrisburg won 34-8 in their recent league test against Manila (Manila, AR)
