The Ruston Bearcats edged the visiting Ouachita Parish Lions football team by a score of 21-14 in Friday's league outing.

The Bearcats now sport a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Neville for a 5A District 2 outing on Friday, October 17. Ruston will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 56-6 league win over Pineville (Pineville, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 4-2.

With the defeat, Ouachita Parish drops to 5-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to West Monroe (West Monroe, LA) to clash with the Rebels in a 5A District 2 outing on Friday, October 17.
