Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) followers were content Friday as they observed their football squad smash the host St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons (Hammond, LA), 42-6 in a league match.

The Jaguars (4-2) will now prepare for their match against Northlake Christian (Covington, LA). The Wolverines come into the 2A District 9 match with a 3-2 record. In their last match, Northlake Christian routed Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (Kenner, LA), 59-0, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Falcons play the St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks (Greensburg, LA) in a 2A District 9 test, on Friday, October 17. St. Thomas Aquinas will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Hawks come into the test with a 2-4 record after their 12-7 league win over Independence (Independence, LA).
