California High School Volleyball - El Capitan over Helix
October 10, 2025: La Mesa, CA 91941 Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) and the host Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA), observed El Capitan's volleyball team top Helix by a tally of 2-0.
The Gauchos (19-8) will now prepare for their contest against Notre Dame (SO) (Sherman Oaks, CA). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 15-7 record. In their last contest, Notre Dame (SO) was defeated by Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, CA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
The Highlanders now own a 7-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Vista Murrieta for a non-league test on Friday, October 10. Helix will face a Broncos squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta, CA). The Broncos record now stands at 9-16.
