The Hopewell Blue Devils thwarted the host Matoaca Warriors football team by a count of 20-0 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

With the win, Hopewell upgrades its record to 6-2 on the year. The Blue Devils host Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) to face the Knights in a non-league bout on Wednesday, October 25. The Knights enter the bout with a record of 3-4.

The Warriors (5-2) will now prepare for their bout against Petersburg (Petersburg, VA). The Crimson Wave enter the non-league bout with a 6-1 record. In their last bout, Petersburg thwarted Dinwiddie (Dinwiddie, VA), 36-12, in a non-league bout.
