The Mantachie Mustangs walloped the host Alcorn Central Bears football team by a score of 42-7 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Booneville Blue Devils (Booneville, MS) in a 3A Region 1 challenge, on Friday, October 18. Mantachie will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Blue Devils go into the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 21-20 league win over Belmont (Belmont, MS).

The Bears (1-6) will now prepare for their challenge against South Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Cougars go into the non-league challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, South Pontotoc was ripped by Senatobia (Senatobia, MS), 49-7, in a league challenge.
