The Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars volleyball squad (Lyons, NE), was edged 2-1 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles (Bruning, NE)

The Eagles (14-8) will now prepare for their contest against Auburn (Auburn, NE). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 13-10 record. In their last contest, Auburn was tipped by Johnson County Central (Tecumseh, NE), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Cougars battle the Boys Town Cowboys (Boys Town, NE) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, October 11. Lyons-Decatur Northeast will attempt to improve on its 9-16 season record. The Cowboys go into the battle with a 5-14 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Mead (Mead, NE).
