The Sun Valley Spartans football team (Monroe, NC), was beaten 26-13 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC)

The Warriors (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cavaliers come into the non-league challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Cuthbertson was beaten by Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC), 20-7, in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marvin Ridge for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 19. Sun Valley will meet a Mavericks team coming off a 28-0 non-league win over Palisades (Charlotte, NC). The Mavericks record now stands at 4-3.
