The Fairmont Golden Tornadoes football team (Fairmont, NC), was beaten 16-6 in Friday's league challenge with the host Red Springs Red Devils (Red Springs, NC)

The Red Devils (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Midway (Dunn, NC). The Raiders come into the 2A Southeastern challenge with a 6-2 record. In their last challenge, Midway was beaten by Clinton (Clinton, NC), 54-0, in a league challenge.

The Golden Tornadoes now sport a 1-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Bladen for a 2A Southeastern challenge on Friday, October 20. Fairmont will meet a Knights team coming off a 49-21 league loss to St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC). The Knights record now stands at 2-6.
