In Friday's league game, the Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) football team knocked off the visiting Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA), by a final score of 35-24.

The Bobcats (5-3) will now prepare for their game against Dawson County (Dawsonville, GA). The Tigers come into the AAA Region 7 game with a 2-6 record. In their last game, Dawson County was dropped by Wesleyan (Norcross, GA), 21-20, in a league game.

The Dragons now hold a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they host West Hall for a AAA Region 7 game on Friday, October 20. Pickens will battle a Spartans team coming off a 38-7 league loss to White County (Cleveland, GA). The Spartans record now stands at 1-6.
