North Carolina High School Football - Swain County topples Murphy

October 13, 2023: Bryson City, NC 28713

The Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) football defeated the visiting Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 37-13 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Maroon Devils face the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A bout, on Friday, October 20. Swain County will attempt to move on its 8-0 season record. The Braves enter the bout with a 5-3 record after their 17-0 league loss to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).

The Bulldogs (5-3) will now prepare for their bout against Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Wildcats enter the Smoky Mountain 1A bout with a 4-4 record. In their last bout, Andrews was toppled by Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 36-19, in a league bout.
