The Placer Hillmen (Auburn, CA) football nudged the host Nevada Union Miners (Grass Valley, CA), 35-28 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Hillmen face the West Park Panthers (Roseville, CA) in a Foothill Valley bout, on Friday, October 20. Placer will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Panthers enter the bout with a 7-1 record after their 41-14 league win over Ponderosa (Shingle Springs, CA).

The Miners (4-4) will now prepare for their bout against Oakmont (Roseville, CA). The Vikings enter the Foothill Valley bout with a 0-8 record. In their last bout, Oakmont was nudged by Lincoln (Lincoln, CA), 16-13, in a league bout.
