October 14, 2022: Vinton, IA 52349 The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings football team (Vinton, IA), was tipped 12-7 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Assumption Knights (Davenport, IA)
The Knights (2-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA). The Cardinals come into the 3A District 4 challenge with a 1-7 record. In their last challenge, Maquoketa was tipped by Benton (Van Horne, IA), 49-7, in a league challenge.
The Vikings now sport a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they host Mt. Vernon for a 3A District 4 challenge on Friday, October 21. Vinton-Shellsburg will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 47-0 league win over Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 8-1.
