Texas High School Football - Eastland held off by Merkel

October 14, 2022: Eastland, TX 76448

In Friday's league game, the Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) football team tipped the host Eastland Mavericks (Eastland, TX), by a final score of 34-28.

The Badgers (3-4) will now prepare for their game against Jacksboro (Jacksboro, TX). The Tigers come into the 3A-2 Region II District 5 game with a 4-3 record. In their last game, Jacksboro was tipped by Comanche (Comanche, TX), 53-33, in a league game.

The Mavericks now hold a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Millsap for a 3A-2 Region II District 5 game on Friday, October 21. Eastland will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 38-12 league win over Dublin (Dublin, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 4-3.
