The New Hope Trojans football team (Columbus, MS), was beaten 34-14 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS)

The Commodores (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Cleveland Central (Cleveland, MS). The Wolves come into the 5A Region 1 challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Cleveland Central was beaten by Columbus (Columbus, MS), 28-19, in a league challenge.

The Trojans now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lake Cormorant for a 5A Region 1 challenge on Friday, October 21. New Hope will meet a team coming off a 36-0 league loss to West Point (West Point, MS). The record now stands at 3-5.
