The Pioneers (2-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Eastside (Coeburn, VA). The Spartans come into the Cumberland challenge with a 0-8 record. In their last challenge, Eastside was beaten by Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA), 44-7, in a league outing.
With the loss, Phelps moves to 0-9 on the season. The Hornets host Breathitt County (Jackson, KY) to confront the Bobcats in a non-league outing on Friday, October 14. The Bobcats go into the outing with a record of 4-2. Breathitt County won 20-0 in their recent league outing against Middlesboro (Middlesboro, KY)
