Virginia High School Soccer - Bishop Ireton knocks off The Academy of the Holy Cross
October 16, 2025: Alexandria, VA 22314 Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Bishop Ireton Cardinals (Alexandria, VA) and the visiting The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans (Kensington, MD), saw Bishop Ireton's soccer squad triumph over The Academy of the Holy Cross by a score of 6-0.
The Cardinals (6-4) will now prepare for their battle against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Alexandria, VA). The Saints enter the non-league battle with a 0-4 record. In their last test, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes was overwhelmed by Sidwell Friends (Washington, DC), 3-0, in a league test.
The Tartans now sport a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they host St. John's for a Washington Catholic test on Monday, October 20. The Academy of the Holy Cross will clash with a Cadets team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Maret (Washington, DC). The Cadets record now stands at 8-3.
