Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC) and the host Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC), saw Asheboro's soccer squad prevail over Piedmont by a count of 5-1.

The Blue Comets (18-2) will now prepare for their battle against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights enter the Mid-Piedmont 3A battle with a 4-14 record. In their last battle, North Davidson by Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC), 3-1, in a league battle.
