Illinois High School Football - Coal City wallops Herscher

October 17, 2025: Coal City, IL 60416

The Coal City Coalers football squad scored 56 points and limited the visiting Herscher Tigers to 7 in the Coalers league triumph on Friday.

The Coalers now hold a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wilmington for a Illinois Central Eight test on Friday, October 24. Coal City will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 54-6 league win over Reed-Custer (Braidwood, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-1.

With the loss, Herscher moves to 5-3 on the season. The Tigers host Peotone (Peotone, IL) to face the Blue Devils in a Illinois Central Eight challenge on Friday, October 24. The Blue Devils go into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Peotone lost 25-20 in their recent league challenge against Manteno (Manteno, IL)
