Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Ridgeview/Lexington Mustangs (Colfax, IL), 28-19 in a league battle.

With the win, Deer Creek-Mackinaw improves its record to 5-3 on the season. The Chiefs travel to Kelly (Benton, MO) to play the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Friday, October 24. The Hawks go into the challenge with a record of 4-4. Kelly won 13-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Lutheran (St. Peters, MO)

The Mustangs (7-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL). The Falcons go into the non-league test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley knocked off Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL), 34-6, in a league test.
