The Hempstead Mustangs felled the visiting Jefferson Hawks football team by a score of 56-48 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs face the Bettendorf Bulldogs (Bettendorf, IA) in a 5A Group 5 challenge, on Friday, October 24. Hempstead will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 17-9 non-league win over Kennedy (Cedar Rapids, IA).

The Hawks (1-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Cedar Falls (Cedar Falls, IA). The Tigers go into the 5A Group 5 test with a 6-2 record. In their last test, Cedar Falls was defeated by Linn-Mar (Marion, IA), 21-13, in a non-league test.
