October 17, 2025: Pleasant Hill, IA 50327 The Johnston Dragons held off the host Southeast Polk Rams football squad by a margin of 38-37 in Friday's non-league test.
The Dragons now sport a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Roosevelt for a 5A Group 3 test on Friday, October 24. Johnston will meet a Roughriders squad coming off a 20-18 non-league loss to Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA). The Roughriders record now stands at 2-6.
The Rams (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Des Moines East (Des Moines, IA). The Scarlets enter the 5A Group 1 challenge with a 1-7 record. In their last challenge, Des Moines East was edged by Lincoln (Des Moines, IA), 43-36, in a non-league challenge.
