In Friday's league game, the McDonald Blue Devils (McDonald, OH) football team edged the visiting Springfield Tigers (New Middletown, OH), by a tally of 7-6.

In their next game, the Blue Devils battle the Mineral Ridge Rams (Mineral Ridge, OH) in a Mahoning Valley - Scarlet game, on Friday, October 24. McDonald will attempt to better on its 9-0 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 51-20 league win over Western Reserve (Berlin Center, OH).

The Tigers now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Lowellville for a Mahoning Valley - Scarlet bout on Friday, October 24. Springfield will encounter a Rockets team coming off a 40-14 league win over Waterloo (Atwater, OH). The Rockets record now stands at 3-6.
