October 18, 2024: Mendenhall, MS 39114 The Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) football knocked off the visiting Copiah Academy Colonels (Gallman, MS), 27-14 in Friday's league outing.
The Cougars now sport a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Leake Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 outing on Friday, October 25. Simpson Academy will clash with a Rebels squad coming off a 35-34 league win over Lamar (Meridian, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 6-3.
With the defeat, Copiah Academy drops to 6-3 on the campaign. The Colonels host Wayne Academy (Waynesboro, MS) to clash with the Jaguars in a non-league outing on Friday, October 25. The Jaguars come into the outing with a record of 7-2. Wayne Academy won 42-35 in their recent non-league outing against Winston Academy (Louisville, MS)
