In Friday's non-league match, the host Kentwood Kangaroos football squad scored a decisive 56-6 triumph over the Independence Tigers.

The Kangaroos (5-2) will now prepare for their match against Southern Lab (Baton Rouge, LA). The Kittens come into the 1A District 9 match with a 3-3 record. In their last match, Southern Lab was routed by Kaplan (Kaplan, LA), 40-20, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Tigers confront the Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) in a 2A District 9 match, on Friday, October 25. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Jaguars come into the match with a 6-1 record after their 27-21 league loss to Northlake Christian (Covington, LA).
