Mississippi High School Football - Pontotoc defeats Lafayette
October 18, 2024: Oxford, MS 38655 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS) and the host Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS), witnessed Pontotoc's football squad topple Lafayette by a count of 35-21.
The Warriors (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Corinth (Corinth, MS). The Warriors enter the 5A Region 1 contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Corinth was outscored by New Hope (Columbus, MS), 46-7, in a league contest.
Coming up next, the Commodores confront the West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS) in a 5A Region 1 contest, on Friday, October 25. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Green Wave enter the contest with a 4-3 record after their 21-0 league win over Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS).
