In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Freer Buckaroos volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the McMullen County Cowboys.

The Buckaroos (27-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Skidmore-Tynan (Skidmore, TX). The Bobcats come into the 2A Region IV District 31 challenge with a 24-8 record. In their last challenge, Skidmore-Tynan beat Refugio (Refugio, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cowboys meet the Jones Trojans (Beeville, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 26. McMullen County will attempt to upgrade on its 16-20 season record.
