October 19, 2023: Danville, VA 24541 The Halifax County Comets football team (South Boston, VA), was beaten 20-7 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA)
The Eagles (5-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA). The Phoenix come into the challenge with a 1-6 record. In their last challenge, Mecklenburg County achieved victory over Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA), 48-6, in a league challenge.
The Comets now sport a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Magna Vista for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 26. Halifax County will meet a Warriors team coming off a 36-26 non-league win over Bassett (Bassett, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 7-2.
