October 2, 2023: Urbana, IL 61801 The crowd at Monday's non-league test between the Urbana University Illineks (Urbana, IL) and the visiting Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL), saw Urbana University's soccer squad triumph over Mattoon by a count of 7-2.
The Illineks now hold a 10-5 record. They play next when they host Cornerstone Christian for a East Central Illinois test on Tuesday, October 3. Urbana University will meet a Cyclones squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Monticello (Monticello, IL). The Cyclones record now stands at 1-12.
With the loss, Mattoon drops to 6-12 on the season. The Greenwave travel to Mahomet-Seymour (Mahomet, IL) to meet the Bulldogs in a Apollo test on Tuesday, October 3.
