October 2, 2025: Cortland, NY 13045 The South Jefferson Spartans got by the host Cortland Purple Tigers football team by a score of 2-0 in Thursday's league test.
The Spartans now sport a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vernon-Verona-Sherrill for a non-league test on Saturday, October 11. South Jefferson will meet a Red Devils squad coming off a 49-21 league win over Central Valley Academy (Ilion, NY). The Red Devils record now stands at 4-1.
With the defeat, Cortland drops to 0-5 on the campaign. The Purple tigers travel to Indian River (Philadelphia, NY) to face the Wolves in a Section 3 B - West challenge on Thursday, October 9. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Indian River lost 34-26 in their recent league challenge against Institute of Tech (Syracuse, NY)
