California High School Football - Monterey Trail can't hold off Vanden
October 2, 2025: Elk Grove, CA 95624 Vanden Vikings (Fairfield, CA) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the host Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA), 32-28 in a non-league battle.
With the triumph, Vanden upgrades its record to 6-1 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Los Gatos (Los Gatos, CA) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league match on Thursday, October 9. The Wildcats come into the match with a record of 1-5. Los Gatos lost 40-6 in their recent non-league match against Pittsburg (Pittsburg, CA)
Coming up next, the Mustangs meet the Rocklin Thunder (Rocklin, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, October 9. Monterey Trail will attempt to improve on its 4-1 season record. The Thunder go into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 21-0 non-league loss to Jesuit (Carmichael, CA).
