In Thursday's non-league contest, the Southern Indians (Salineville, OH) volleyball squad nudged the host Springfield Tigers (New Middletown, OH), by a margin of 3-2.

Next up, the Indians face the Western Reserve Blue Devils (Berlin Center, OH) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, October 25. Southern will attempt to better on its 19-5 season record. The Blue Devils go into the contest with a 19-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Windham (Windham, OH).

With the loss, Springfield moves to 13-11 on the year.
