In Friday's league game, the Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) football team tipped the visiting Independence Tigers (Independence, LA), by a final score of 36-30.

The Jaguars (6-2) will now prepare for their game against Springfield (Springfield, LA). The Bulldogs come into the 2A District 7 game with a 4-4 record. In their last game, Springfield was tipped by St. Helena College and Career Academy (Greensburg, LA), 44-16, in a league game.
