The Newton Tigers football team (Newton, MS), was beaten 31-22 in Friday's league challenge with the host Scott Central Rebels (Forest, MS)

The Rebels (6-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Lake (Lake, MS). The Hornets come into the 2A Region 5 challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, Lake was beaten by Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS), 34-6, in a league challenge.
