The Rivera Raiders football team (Brownsville, TX), was beaten 35-7 in Friday's league challenge with the host Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX)

The Panthers (8-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hanna (Brownsville, TX). The Golden Eagles come into the 6A Region IV District 32 challenge with a 1-7 record. In their last challenge, Hanna was beaten by Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX), 31-0, in a league challenge.

The Raiders now sport a 1-6 record. They take the field next when they host Harlingen for a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Friday, October 27. Rivera will meet a Cardinals team coming off a 21-10 league loss to San Benito (San Benito, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 5-3.
