The Appling County Pirates (Baxley, GA) football were winner over the visiting Cook Hornets (Adel, GA), 57-27 in Friday's league outing.

The Pirates now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pierce County for a AA Region 3 outing on Friday, October 31. Appling County will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 42-7 league win over Tattnall County (Reidsville, GA). The Bears record now stands at 8-1.

With the defeat, Cook drops to 5-4 on the campaign. The Hornets host Crisp County (Cordele, GA) to clash with the Cougars in a AA Region 3 outing on Friday, October 31. The Cougars come into the outing with a record of 3-6. Crisp County won 28-16 in their recent league game against Pierce County (Blackshear, GA)
