Spectators at Friday's non-league bout between the Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS) and the host East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS), saw Belmont's football team nip East Union by a final score of 30-26.

With the win, Belmont advances its record to 6-3 on the season. The Cardinals host Mantachie (Mantachie, MS) to encounter the Mustangs in a 3A Region 1 bout on Thursday, October 30. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 2-7. Mantachie lost 47-7 in their recent league bout against Kossuth (Kossuth, MS)

The Urchins now own a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Water Valley for a 2A Region 2 contest on Thursday, October 30. East Union will encounter a Blue Devils team coming off a 42-28 league win over Strayhorn (Sarah, MS). The Blue Devils record now stands at 7-2.
