La Salle Lancers (Pasadena, CA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the host Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals (Montebello, CA), 49-28 in a league match.

The Lancers (3-6) will now prepare for their match against Salesian (Los Angeles, CA). The Mustangs come into the Del Rey match with a 6-3 record. In their last match, Salesian defeated St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA), 40-0, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Cardinals confront the Crespi Celts (Encino, CA) in a Del Rey battle, on Friday, October 31. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record. The Celts go into the battle with a 9-0 record after their 34-6 league win over Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, CA).
